Adya Palliative Care
 

Is a care that improves the quality of life for patients, making the patient as comfortable as possible by anticipating, preventing, diagnosing and treating their symptoms (as opposed to trying to cure the illness itself). In addition to medical care, palliative care can incorporate psychological, social and spiritual support for patients and for families.

Who is Eligible for Palliative Care?

  • Someone whose doctor gave a determination that they have 1 year or less to live to due a terminal and life-limiting illness

  • Someone whose main goal is to continue curative efforts while also focusing on the quality of life and comfort care.

  • Someone whose health has recently continued to decline and is not eating, mentation has changed, and dependent on someone to assist in their daily activities.
